As we await the KCSE 2025 results, expected in the second week of January 2026, here is the proposed grading scale that is generating attention among students, parents, and educators.

📊 Proposed Grade “A” Boundaries Per Subject (2025)

The revised KNEC grading system now calculates your final Mean Grade based on:

- Mathematics
- One language (English or Kiswahili)
- Five other best-performing subjects
Here are the subject-specific boundaries for an A Plain grade:
- Mathematics:57%  
- English: 78%  
- Kiswahili: 78%  
- Chemistry:65%  
- Biology: 78%  
- Physics: 60%  
- Geography: 65%  
- Business Studies: 85%  
- Agriculture:80%  
- Computer Studies: 75%  
- History & Government: 89%  
- C.R.E: 91%
